I had been noticing the vintage cafe-racer-style retro bikes around a lot lately, and wanted to create one myself. I started pursuing craigslist and saw this particular bike for sale.
The wheels started turning and then I became aware of the Corsa Motoclassica Event at Willow Springs, where they were also having a Vintage Motorcycle Show and there was my challenge: Get a bike of this style built and ready for this show. The date of the show was only 20 days away, But I accepted the challenge.
This started out as a 1978 Honda CB 750. I tore the bike apart and constructed the tail section. Decided to Fabricate a 1″ Longer Swingarm. I was going to go for a modern/retro style.
This was the result and rode it to Willow Springs. Entered in the vintage bike show and won First Place in the Cafe Class.
